get my stuff for cheap (a.k.a. i’m featured on Jasmere.com)!
remember that thing i was talking about last week?
it’s time to let you in on the secret! :D
my shop has been selected to be featured on a website called Jasmere.com today! (for 24 hours, from noon eastern time to noon eastern time tomorrow!)
i can’t tell you how honored i am to be featured on such an awesome website. these guys really know how it’s done.
never heard of jasmere? in their own words: “Jasmere connects specialty web retailers with style-conscious consumers, and offers limited time discounts of up to 70% off. The more people who buy, the lower the price for all.“
in my case, you will be able to purchase a $40 voucher to PangeaHandmade.com for $19 or less! (for even more information, visit Jasmere’s “How it works” page.)
basically the way it works is, you place your order for a voucher, and your card isn’t charged until the end of the feature so you pay the lowest price possible. what could be better than that?!
tell your friends and coworkers, buy a voucher as a gift for a family member (and one for yourself too, because you’re allowed more than one!) and spread the word, because the more people who buy it, the more you save! :D
click on the screenshot to check out the feature or go to Jasmere.com and place your order anytime from Noon EST today (08/11/2010) to Noon EST tomorrow (08/12/2010)!
once it’s over, it’s over. so get it while you can!

new blog design!
just wanted to drop a quick line to those of you reading in a feed reader, because i designed a new WP theme to better match the rest of my sites. :D
so click on over and check it out!
(or if you’re lazy, here’s a screenshot:)
& also wanted to say sorry for the lack of posting lately. been working on some big things! wanna know what they are? click here to sign up for my newsletter and you’ll find out soon!

custom clutch bag
i just made this clutch/wristlet for a friend of my sister-in-law’s.
i’ve been meaning to put some things like this in my shop recently (notice in the below photo, you can see i’ve already got the custom hang tags, ready to be sewn into bags as i make them. but i have about 200 of them and i’ve had them for over 3 months now…), but i don’t have a really great sewing space set up in my studio, so i’ve been having to just set it up when i need it and then put it away. i think if it was out the entire time, i would have more motivation to use it. i think it has to do with that ‘out of sight, out of mind’ saying…
but maybe i’m just making excuses… what do you think? should i keep making them? i quite like them, and the people who see them seem to LOVE them. actually this custom order is because she saw the one that my sister-in-law had, and the way my sister-in-law got hers was because she came over to our house one time and i had it in a pile because i wasn’t sure if i liked it enough to list it and she absolutely refused to leave without buying it from me (which i took as an extremely high compliment). so there you go. maybe i should just make more and list them and see what happens? i have enough fabric to make 250,000,000 of them (yes, million).
but i suppose it would be nice if i could sew a straight line. you can see on the top by the zipper that they are somewhat wonky-looking. i blame this on my sewing machine needing a tune-up. yeah. that’s it.
so maybe i’ll practice sewing a straight line before i even think about listing these. :S
anyway, hope you’re having a great friday!

midcoast Maine honeymoon
i realize we’ve been back for a few weeks now, but my head and heart still drift back to Camden, Maine every 30 minutes or so. what a wonderful opportunity we had, to be able to pick up everything and go for a whole week!
we climbed two mountains (Mt. Battie in Camden & Cadillac Mt in Acadia Nat’l Park).
we ate at numerous chowder houses.
we went kayaking on the ocean.
we took a flightseeing trip in a little cessna airplane and saw a bunch of little harbors and so many tiny little islands.
we made lots of new friends (there were lots & lots of ducks).
we took a schooner trip on a wonderfully foggy day.
we stood in the cold waters of the Atlantic.
we ate dessert (every day because vacations are not about diets).
we watched the sunrise over the ocean for the first time in either of our lives.
& we absolutely loved every darn minute that we spent there.
neither of us can believe it’s over, and we’ve already begun discussing our return visit. ;)

what have you done out-of-the-norm lately?
